ROCKFORD, IL, DECEMBER 15, 2021 — The alarming spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant has prompted renewed concern about the pandemic. Early evidence suggests that the omicron variant is highly contagious, possibly more so than the delta variant, underscoring the importance of social distancing and high-quality protective barriers such as Rockford Systems’ GermBlock series of shields.
By providing a transparent barrier between people while face-to-face, Rockford Systems, LLC GermBlock shields help prevent the spread of respiratory droplets that can carry the coronavirus. Know as aerosols, these droplets are released whenever an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks, and can be breathed in by anyone within six feet, according to the CDC.
Flimsy “budget” plastic barriers easily chip and break in everyday usage, or due to accidents. Rockford Systems GermBlock shields are ruggedly constructed of clear 3/16″ chemical, water, and mar-resistant polycarbonate, with some models that incorporate 3/4″ 16-gauge 304 stainless steel framing with full penetration welds, so they can be used with confidence in schools, restaurants, retail outlets and other locations with heavy foot traffic. In addition, the stainless-steel frame allows the shields to be safely washed down and sterilized per the CDC’s recommendation for frequent cleaning.
Economical and space-saving, Rockford Systems GermBlock shields are available in multiple configurations: floor standing shields, tabletop shields, and tabletop shields with extended mounting legs. Floor Standing shields are available with optional caster assemblies that not only allow for effortless transportation from site to site, but also provide more stability to the shield due to a lower center of gravity. Models with slots are available to allow for safe transactions in retail outlets, as well.
Rockford Systems brings decades of experience into the design, development, production and fulfillment of its “Made In America” GermBlock Shields.
