Rockford Systems Puts Spotlight on New Machine Safeguarding Services at Texas Safety Conference & Expo

New Machine Safeguarding Services

Rockford Systems, a premier provider of machine safeguarding products and new machine safeguarding services, announced today that for the first time it will be attending the Texas Safety Conference & Expo, scheduled for March 5-7 in Fort Worth, TX, and sponsored by the National Safety Council (NSC). Rockford Systems recently became a member of the NSC to help engage like-minded safety professionals and educate them of the dangers of operating machinery without proper safeguarding. To assist in its efforts the company will be performing hands-on demonstrations of a fully safeguarded lathe, mill drill and drill press at its booth (#443).

Our field engineers estimate that more than half of all operating metal fabricating machinery in the United States does not comply with current OSHA and ANSI standards,” said Vice President of Marketing for Rockford Systems. “Many times this is because the operating company itself does not understand regulations or have been lulled into a false sense of security because no accidents have occurred. We plan to leverage the Texas Safety Conference & Expo to make safety professionals better aware of this serious problem that annually results in 18,000 amputations, lacerations and other traumatic injuries to workers who operate and maintain machinery, and that the lack of machine safeguarding is one of the OSHA’s top ten cited violations.

To combat mounting injuries, Rockford Systems has aggressively rolled out new services it will showcase at the Texas Safety Conference & Expo that compliment its portfolio of over 10,000 safeguarding products. At the forefront is Onsite Machine Safeguarding Risk Assessments, says Halle: “Our team of highly trained staff will visit a site to identify hazards on machinery and score the risk level using the ANSI B11.0-2015 safety standard methods. From there, a comprehensive plan is formulated to lower the hazard level by upgrading to current safety standards. Risk assessments can be performed on as few as a single machine or as many as 250 or more.

Rockford Systems will also be signing up attendees for its Machine Safeguarding Seminars held at its Rockford, Illinois training center. For 45 years, Rockford Systems has educated thousands of safety professionals to better understand new machine safeguarding services and standards and best safety practices. Seminars combine classroom discussion with demonstrations of machines under power.
