Pliers and tongs are used to keep hands out of the point of operation while feeding or removing parts from the machine.
Pliers and tongs, like all hand-feeding tools, are not considered to be guards or devices by themselves. But these hand tools offer additional protection.
Most of the tools are constructed of soft alloy materials, engineered to easily crush if caught between dies or parts of the machine. Many of today’s hand tools are designed with ergonomics in mind. This provides the operator with maximum comfort and minimum fatigue.
Additional hand tools are available with suction cups or magnetic pick-ups.
