Rockford Systems to Attend FABTECH 2016 Trade Show

Rockford Systems, LLC., a premier provider of machine safeguarding products and services, announced today it will be attending FABTECH 2016 in Las Vegas, November 16-18 in booth #C14023, where it will showcase its full range of Machine Safety Life-Cycle Solutions engineered to prevent employee injuries and bring equipment to compliance with safety standards outlined by OSHA and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

According to OSHA, workers who operate and maintain machinery suffer approximately 18,000 amputations, lacerations, crushing injuries, abrasions and more than 800 deaths per year. To combat these alarming numbers, Rockford Systems offers the industry’s most comprehensive Onsite Risk Assessments, Onsite Machine Surveys, Customized Engineering Solutions, Innovative and Proprietary Safeguarding Products, and Safety Education programs that not only safeguard employees but that improve productivity, cost-savings and overall profitability.

Our field engineers estimate that over half the metal fabrication machinery currently in operation is not up to OSHA/ANSI compliance, endangering employees and opening businesses up to OSHA fines, lawsuits, medical expenses and higher insurance costs,” said Matt Brenner, Vice President of Sales for Rockford Systems, LLC. The reality is that most shops are not aware of the dangers of machinery until it is too late. FABTECH provides the ideal venue to educate the market on the unparalleled breadth and depth of our high-quality, trusted machine safeguarding products and services, so we can help make shops safer and more profitable.

Brenner points out that new machinery is just as likely to be unprotected as older equipment that has been in service for decades. To underscore this point, Rockford Systems will be displaying in its FABTECH booth two new machines — a drill press and mill drill — it recently bought from a reputable manufacturer that did not meet OSHA/ANSI standards out-of-the-box. Both machines were brought up to compliance using the company’s safety products.

“There is a myth that a new machine means a safe machine,” notes Brenner. “We are demonstrating at the booth that isn’t always the case. Most new machinery is not in compliance with today’s safety standards. We encourage attendees and members of the media to stop by the booth to see for themselves just how dangerous even ‘new’ machinery can be without safeguarding.

As an added bonus, Rockford Systems will be providing booth visitors with a free OSHA Guard Opening Scale (retail value $28.50) to promote operator safety. An OSHA guard opening scale is a valuable tool to use during the design, installation, and inspection of guards to ensure they comply with OSHA safety standards.
