Mock Interviews
In May, 2022 Rockford Systems participated in a local high school “Mock Interview” program, that helped to ready students for upcoming job interviews. Rockford Systems also participated in a career day with a booth to discuss local jobs and interview candidates graduating in May 2022.

Guilford High School Safeguarding Assessment
Throughout 2017, Rockford Systems is helping Guilford High School’s Workshop Class by donating our time to conduct machine surveys on all the Shop machines, providing and installing safeguarding products, and teaching the Shop Class students on basic machine safety, as well as how to properly use their new safeguarding products. After learning that two Guilford students experienced hand injuries in the last 12 months on shop machines, Rockford Systems jumped at the opportunity to guard the machines to help keep students safe. All work and equipment is provided to Guilford at no charge. Over the next several years, Rockford Systems plans to continue to other local area high schools and do the same.

Manufacturing Day
On October 6, 2017, Rockford Systems hosted Manufacturing Day. Over 100 students from RPS205 Jefferson High School, Guilford High School, Boylan Central Catholic High School, Northern Illinois University and area businesses attended our event. Attendees received free PPE and gift bags, learned about safety topics from Magid Glove & Safety, MSA Safety, Master Lock, Banner Engineering and Steiner Electric, viewed live machine demos at 8 stations (lathe, mill, drill, grinder, riveter, full-revolution power press, part-revolution power press, press brake, shear and water jet), and participated in our #selfieforsafety campaign (see below). The mayor declared October 6, 2017 to be “Rockford Systems Day” and the governor issued a Manufacturing Day Proclamation to Rockford Systems.

FABTECH
In November 2017, Rockford Systems hosted 300 students from 5 Rockford-area high schools at FABTECH 2017 at McCormick Place in Chicago to promote safety and manufacturing careers with America’s youth. Students were provided with transportation, expo passes, food and t-shirts.
