Rockford Systems to Attend SAFETY 2017 Expo in Denver

ROCKFORD, IL, JUNE 14, 2017 — Rockford Systems, a leader in machine safeguarding technologies, announced today it will showcase a broad variety of innovations in Booth #573 during the SAFETY 2017 Expo in Denver, CO, June 19-21, 2017, sponsored by the American Society of Safety Engineers. With a new level of synergy running throughout its service and product portfolio, Rockford Systems will address the many dynamics and technology disruptions facing safety professionals, educators, and manufacturing companies.

Code compliance, in particular with ANSI, OSHA and NFPA machine safeguarding regulations, is the focus for Rockford Systems at Safety 2017. The company offers onsite machine safeguarding risk assessments and machine surveys that identify dangers on the plant floor that can lead to employee injuries. In addition to pinpointing and fully documenting the machine safeguarding environment, the safety professionals at Rockford Systems will generate a same-day proposal of specific hazard reduction methods based on a risk score assigned to each machine. Rockford Systems will then engineer a code compliant solution to achieve fewer employee injuries, reduced insurance rates, improved productivity and the elimination of OSHA penalties.

SAFETY 2017 Expo – Selfie For Safety

SAFETY 2017 attendees can show their support for student safety by taking a Selfie for Safety at the Rockford Systems booth. Selfie for Safety is a community service campaign launched by Rockford Systems to raise student awareness of the importance of machine safeguarding and to help fund the upgrading of safety equipment in the machine shops of several high schools in Rockford, Illinois, where the company’s headquarters has been located since 1971. Hosted on the company’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages, the campaign encourages students, machinists, Do-It-Yourselfer’s, manufacturers or anyone who uses machinery and values safety to submit a “selfie” of themselves standing next to their favorite machine.

In addition, visitors to Rockford Systems booth will receive a free OSHA guard opening scale or grinder gauge. A $30 value, the guard opening scale shows distances that safeguarding must be positioned from the point of operation so that employees cannot reach under, over, around, or through the guard. The bench grinder gauge, a $20 value, ensures that work rests are kept adjusted closely to the wheel to prevent the workpiece from being jammed between the wheel and the rest.
